The term for office bearers of FFA NSW will be 2 years with the position of President, Southern Zone Competition Organizer, Central Zone Competition Organizer and News Letter editor becoming vacant in even years and the other positions becoming vacant in odd years. Members standing down can offer themselves for re-election. The process is inconsistent with the constitution of FFA but has been approved by the national board of FFA for use by FFA NSW.

RESOLUTIONS PASSED AT 2006 AGM

  1. NSW members of FFA who are national directors of FFA are automatically directors of FFA NSW Chapter.

  1. Because of the geographically widely dispersed nature of our NSW membership of FFA NSW, the daily administration and communications of FFA NSW are carried out via email, telephone and this web site.

  1. STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The state championships in NSW will be determined from the results of the various NSW competitions for the year on the following basis:

  • Only members that were financial at the time of competing in a qualifying competition will participate in the NSW state championships.
  • Only NSW competitions held in the same calendar year will be qualifying competitions for the NSW state championships of that year.
  • The state championships will be determined on the basis of the best two results from qualifying competition results.
  • Where a members fishes more than two qualifying competitions there worst result is automatically drops off.
  • Where a members only fishes one competition then he will be awarded the maximum result from the best attended qualifying competition to make up his total score.
  • The state champion will be the member the best result. The runner up will be the member that achieves the next best result and so on.
  • Where two or more members achieve the same result, for example 4 points as a result of winning all four sessions in each of their competitions,  then the member with the highest fish points will be ranked higher than the person with the next highest fish points and so on.
  • The member with the highest ranking for the year will be the state champion and receive the gold medal, the person with the next highest ranking will receive the silver medal and the member with the third highest ranking will receive the bronze medal.

  1. NSW CHAPTER STATE TEAM

Each state chapter of Fly Fish Australia enters a team of 4 angles to represent the state. The NSW team will be made up of the NSW representatives attending the Nationals that have the highest ranking in the state championship of the same year as the Nationals.

 

RESOLUTIONS PASSED AT 2007 AGM HELD ON 22/8/07
  1. That FFA NSW will continues to pay for any boat or boats that have to be hired by the competition organizers for a competition.
  2. That the FFA NSW members who are selected to compete in the Worlds, Commonwealth or Oceania’s will automatically become a fund raising committee for the year leading up to their trips. The mandate for that committee is to raise fund to assist with the costs of their representative trips by raising funds by staging lunchtime sausage sizzles at competitions, by staging raffles or in other appropriate ways.
  3. That FFA NSW will match the funds raised by the representative fund raising committee, on a dollar for dollar basis up to a maximum of 40% of the net of competition fees less any boat hire costs in the year the representative fund raising committee raised their funds.

 

FFA FLY FISHING COMPETITIONS ORGANIZED BY FFA NSW

Competitions are open to all all fly fishers but Fly Fish Australia rules are strictly enforced. Go to the Documents & Form link on the side of this page for the competition rules.

The state competitions as well as standing alone are also qualifying events for the Fly Fish Australia National Championships. At the time of registering at state competitions competitors must nominate if they are seeking to use the competition to qualify for the FFA National Championships of the same year. Please note that only financial members of FFA at the time of registration can seek to qualify for the national championships. From 2006 members of FFA have been entitled to seek to qualify to fish at the Nationals at as many competitions as they like.

The maximum number of competitors that can qualify to fish at a National Competition is the 1/3 of total competitors (rounded up) in a competition. Please note that positions not filled at one competition will not be transferable to another competition.

 

FFA NSW ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of FFA NSW will be held in conjunction with one of the FFA NSW competitions.

The election of office bearers will occur at the FFA NSW AGM.
